Music

At St Matthews, all the children benefit from weekly music and singing lessons with our specialist teacher, Mr Higgins. The children in Key Stage 2 learn to play and compose their own songs on the ukulele. These lessons are supplemented by the use of ' Charanga' a music scheme to enable staff to deliver a high quality music education. Families are regularly invited in to concerts where the children can showcase their musical skills and creativity.  

Throughout the year, children are given other opportunities to perform- this might be at Christmas plays and at Young Voices which is a wonderful experience for the children and they enjoy being part of a large, children's choir.
